When you've been going to the gym regularly and are feeling great, the last thing you want to do is to miss a workout or two. But what if you're sick? Is it better to stay home, do a lighter workout, or just do the usual hoping it might make you feel better?

I would say that this truly depends on the workout you are planning to do and how sick you are. If you were planning to just keep the body moving while you are just ‘under the weather’ that might be possible. However, if you are truly sick and contagious, remember that you are bringing germs into the gym.

I agree with the earlier poster. You can push yourself through a workout if you are grumpy or not feeling great, but I would never expect someone with the flu or a serious cold to go to work out. We are not professional athletes, we do not need to ‘play through the pain’.

I first of all wish that these crappy RC ads would really stop pushing themselves on us, very frustrating that they add absolutely nothing to the conversation. I think that you have to adjust for yourself, if you are truly sick, stay away from too intense workouts and just try to get the heart rate up a bit for example.
