Standing Poses The standing yoga poses benefit you physically in several ways. They can eliminate tension, aches and pains and improve digestion, circulation and breathing. These poses also stimulate your mind and body, and they create confidence and strengthen will-power. The most basic standing pose is the Mountain Pose. This pose marks both the end and the beginning of all standing poses. Simply stand with your arms at your sides, feet together, toes pointed forward. Your shoulders should be relaxed and your chin should be parallel to the floor. With your body weight evenly distributed on your feet, you practice rhythmic breathing. The Half Moon is another standing pose with your arms relaxed and feet shoulder width apart. Inhale, raise your arms above your head and interlock your fingers. Exhale and bend at your hips to the right. After inhaling and stretching back up over your head again, repeat the move to the left side. This is a great move that stretches your sides and massages the liver and the spleen. hobby rc
